About

Katelyn Goldstein

Katelyn Goldstein is an multimedia artist whose oil paintings and watercolors have been displayed in The Herter Gallery in Amherst, Mass., in countless exhibitions at the Oresman and Jannotta Gallery in Northampton Mass., at the Broward Art Guild in Fort Lauderdale and at Spectrum Miami during Art Basel for three consecutive years, where she sold her stark watercolor "Ravensbrück Concentration Camp."

It was while studying in Copenhagen in 2013 with leading global artists, that Katelyn moved from oils to watercolors and also ventured into graphic design and European History. An extensive tour through some of Europe's most historic cities and museums led to much of the work she creates today.

In 2012 she was the only Smith College student selected to participate in the Five College Advanced Studio Art seminar along with students from Amherst, UMASS, Mount Holyoke, and Hampshire College. During this time she expanded her methods to include sequential art and created 10 oil paintings a week.

Katelyn's interest in art, animation, filmmaking and design began while she was attending Young at Art Children's Museum in Davie, Fla, near her Fort Lauderdale home where she grew up.  When she was just a toddler, Katelyn was diagnosed with a rare form of Crohn's Disease, which necessitated several lifesaving surgeries and limited her early childhood activities. Recognizing she could not always do everything the other kids were doing, Katelyn retreated into art -- but soon, what began as a distraction from childhood troubles became passion.

Katelyn is also a skilled designer and animator, creating shorts such as her pitch winning 360 film "Endless Cycle," sponsored by Univision in 2018 while working in Miami  as a Senior Operations Coordinator at Viacom International Media Networks. She prepped multi-media content from Comedy Central, Nickelodeon and MTV for distribution throughout the Americas Today, she works at the award-winning stop-motion animation studio, LAIKA.

Katelyn's work has been lauded for both its whimsy and realism. She is presently working on a series of digital illustrations.
